Fajr Film Festival’s poster is slated to be released in a ceremony in Tehran.

Poster for Fajr Film Festival in Iran is set to be released on Friday at Iran Cinema Museum in Iranian capital city of Tehran.

The unveiling ceremony will be held in conjunction with releasing a collection of viewers’ choice movies from previous editions of Fajr Film Festival.

The function will start on Friday, January 19 at 17:30 local time with FFF secretary Mohammad Heidari in attendance.

With Iranian director Ali Hatami featured on the poster, a number of veteran Iran arts will be present at the ceremony.

Hatami was a distinguished Iranian film director. He has made a number of movies, including ‘Kamal-ol-Molk’ (1983), ‘Jafar Khan Returns from Abroad’ (1987), ‘Mother’ (1989), ‘The Devoted’ (1991), and ‘Takhti, the World Champion’ (1994-1996) which he did not complete.

Hatami also directed the memorable series ‘Hezar Dastan’ (1979-1987).

His daughter Leila Hatami is an eminent Iranian actress who married a famous Iranian actor Ali Mosaffa.

Fajr Festivals are annually held in Iran during the Fajr Decade (literally meaning ten days of dawn) which marks the anniversary of the ten days from the return of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, to Iran (February 1) until the victory day of the Islamic Revolution (February 11) in 1979.

Established in 1982, Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The screenings will last for 12 days from February 4 until February 15.
